Over 100 Youth Rally at City Hall:


“PASS THE STUDENTS SAFETY ACT

ON NOVEMBER 10TH!”

 

Over 100 youth from all over the city rallied at City Hall to call for passage of the Student Safety Act

at a hearing again postponed to November 10th.  Students called for Council members who have not signed on to do so & carried their pictures.  Sharmin...., a youth leader of DRUM, hosted the event where many youth gave testimonies of their experiences in schools that feel like prions.  Council member Melissa Mark-Viverito spoke and committed to putting pressure on her colleagues and Speaker Christine Quinn to pass the bill this year.
